If your Home PC is connect to DSL/Cable modem directly, there are no router setting is require since your computer is already assign an Internet IP address. Some people who have few computers at home sharing one DSL/Cable line by Router. In this case, you may have to open a channel (may call port forward or virtual server) from your router to allow our Host side software(Facebookcam) accept the outside world, so that the viewer computer is allow connect to Host side computer for remote viewing.

To do this, the computer running "Facebookcam" software must be assign static IP address, in our example below, we will assign 192.168.1.20 to host computer

Step 1. We will forward TCP ports 6000, 6001 (for facebookcam) to host computer.

Step 2. Allow data go through your router "Firewall" to Host computer by Enable this feature from your router setting.



The Host computer we want to forward the port to in our example has the IP number of "192.168.1.20".
For Linksys router, this is what it looks like when it's done:

Click on "Apply" at the bottom of the screen and you're done!
