Q: How to Install?
Answer 1. For Homewatch DSLCAM user, Once you download file from Internet to destop, double click ICON for install to your windows. Some virus shield may rename file extension, in this case rename file extension back to .exe, you can install it again.
Answer 2. For Win2000 user, the install sequence is difference from Xp, you should first install service pack 4, then install rollup , DirectX 8.1 and text to speech 5.1. Without rollup you are require to install two additional patch files manually. They are Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.8 SP1, Microsoft Jet Engine 4.0(sp8). Finally install "Homewatch" software.
Answer 3. For WinXp user, since services pack 2 already include most update file, you can immediately install "Homewatch" software once you install services pack 2 successfully. On the other hand, without services pack 2, you are require to install update file manually like Win2000.
Q. I am using Dual processor, Can I use Homewatch?

Q: What is IP address on internet?
A: It is basically an address on the internet. It help
identify a computer on the internet. Once your computer is log on,
your Internet services provider assigns your PC computer an IP number.
It could be a fixed or dynamic number, which changes each time you log on.
Q: I am using Dynamic IP address(change every time login), how to
connect to homewatch via internet?
A: An IP address is the address of the computer on the internet.
Most providers assign a new IP address to each computer evry time
they connect to the internet. The problem with that is everytime
computer goes online its IP address may change. Due to this the
IP address of both
Homewatch
and the
Viewer
computer may be different each time when they are online. We offer
membership
services makes the server and viewer software
communicate each other without problem.
Q: Why my account become terminate?
A: For Free member, if you run
remote monitor
software and Login at least once a month, you will be able
to keep it for as long as you want. If your Account
is being idle (no remote connect are being made from it) for
longer than 30 days it will automatically expire and you will
not be able to use it any longer.
Q: How to setup dialin account for my windows system
in order to connect via phone line?
A: For window user, please goto control panel->add/remove. change to tab
"window setting", double click "communication" then add dialup connection. So
your window is now allow you login like ISP, you can now connect to Homewatch
via phone line.
Q: How to enable internet access of my computer?
A: We do not offer network consulting services. If you need help with setting up IP addess or computer
name for an URL and enabling Internet access, please contact your network services or consulting company.
Q: How to avoid False alarm ?
A: You must have a good quality camera, then set the Sensitivity level to 6 or above for reduse false alarm.
Q: How to setup dial up account?

Modem FAQ
Q: What is Voice modem?
A: Voice modems are regular 56K dial up modems that are capable of playing audio over the telephone line. They are used for telephony applications.
Q: Why does application software do not hang up when the remote end terminates
the call ?
A: This is an issue with the disconnect detection capabilities of
unimodemV modem, our software will hang up if busy, dial tone or
unobtainable tones are reported during a connected call, however
the only real solution is to use a telephony device with it's own
TSP (Telephone service provider). You should ensure that your
application will always hang up after a timed period of inactivity.

That mean if you purchase voice modem from your neighbour country due to price reason,
such as purphase modem from North America and use it in China, Hong Kong,
Taiwan.. or any asian country, it may not function correctly and is not suggest !!
Q: Why does Modem Phone not hang up when the remote phone is busy ?

Q: Why does application software play voice file before the remote phone starts
to ring ?
A: This is an issue with the call progress detection capabilities
of unimodemV modem, the only alternative is to use a telephony
device with it's own TSP.
Q: Why does application software 'Disconnected' when I try to make an outgoing
call ?
A: This is an issue with unimodemV, if dial tone is not detected by
the modem this is what will happen. Make sure there is dial tone
your TSP support.
Q: Why can I only play wave files in the format 16bit 8Khz Mono ?
A: This is the only useful format for audio down POTS (Plain
Old Telephone System) Lines. The maximum frequency response of a
POTS line is approximately 3Khz and you need only twice the sample
rate for good quality. 8Khz is more than adequate.
Q: Without Voice modem, can I use Home Watch to send voice message
out?
A: Without Voice Modem, You PC computer could not make an outgoing call.
You can always purchase from computer retail store at bargain price today.
Make sure your Telephone service provider approves the use of that modem model.
Q: Why I get error message "Fail to get country code"?
A: click "set country code" button from control panel->telephone,
Enter area code and select country correctly.
Q: How to turn off modem Speaker volume?
A: click "config modem" button from menu tool on the top, in General
Tab -> speaer volume , turn off speaker volume.
